How we work
Clear sources. Honest limits.
Our guides should help readers make better growing decisions without overstating what is known.
Research and source selection
We prioritise university extension services, government agriculture and horticulture resources, recognised botanical organisations, seed-package instructions, and product labels relevant to the question. Recommendations should account for regional differences where possible.
Practical specificity
Useful guides help the reader decide what to do next. Depending on the subject, that may mean container-volume ranges, a decision table, an observation sequence, a climate-aware calendar, or a safety checklist. Numbers are identified as approximate where conditions vary; we avoid inventing yield figures or unsupported performance claims.
First-hand experience
We do not describe a method as personally tested unless an actual test has been performed and recorded. A useful grow log includes a date, plant variety, container dimensions or volume, media ingredients, light conditions, watering observations, and a dated photo. Illustrations are not presented as photographs of real trials.
Updates and corrections
We review pages when a significant error is reported, an important source changes, or a recommendation becomes outdated. Material updates should be marked with an updated date. Readers can suggest corrections through the contact page.
Commercial independence
Affiliate links or advertising should be disclosed. Recommendations should be based on relevance and usefulness, not commission, and commercial relationships should not determine factual conclusions.
